    Aerial Maneuvers

This way? In the video you posted, I can't see how your fingers are positioned. Is your ring finger in the corner? Because that way seems to give very less control on the packet to be spun. It also gives a weak trajectory to the packet. Try positioning your ring finger's outermost joint...

    Aerial Maneuvers

Is this what you intend it to look like? If so, I think I know why your cards are falling. If not, tell me. PS: I apologise for the quality, it was the best I could come up with on the spur of the moment.

    Aerial Maneuvers

Could you post a video of you trying to do and facing the problem? That would help to understand what is going wrong.

    Happy New Year!

I can see why, of course. But for me personally, it was a blessing in disguise. It made me more empathetic as it forced me to look at both, people less privileged and also, those more privileged than me. Happy new year! Here's hoping that 2021 doesn't bring any unpleasant surprises...

    Are colour changes magic?

That's some practical advice...thanks! I'll be using it.

    Name of trick(s)

It looks brilliant. I just wish the ending was different. If you're trying to prove that all the four cards are changing colour, then revealing that you actually have just one card of each colour seems counter-productive and ends on a not-so-magical-anymore note. Upvoted nonetheless. :)

    Are colour changes magic?

True. This reminds me of Penn and Teller's performance where they took David Letterman's watch and smashed it with a hammer, only to reveal it was unharmed. If they had taken just any random watch out of their pockets and done it, it's not really interesting. But BECAUSE it was Letterman's...

    Thinking about stop doing magic

Welcome to the Theory XI Forums! Let me reiterate what I think you mean, and you can correct me if I get anything wrong:- You have been performing magic live (including shows) for years now and you love doing that. You also consider yourself a good magician. But after moving to Germany...

    Are colour changes magic?

True, I'll keep this in mind. I keep forgetting it, and the more eminent the author of the book (on magic) I'm reading, the more easily it slips out of my mind that what works for somebody, may fail me badly. Thanks so much for the book suggestions! I'll look into them. I'll also try reading...

    Are colour changes magic?

That, is a really interesting idea and some great food for thought. Is it completely yours? Is there any work on it that I can read more about? I do believe that the restriction of having to integrate a chapter from the syllabus into my performance lead to me performing magic in a way that...

    Are colour changes magic?

Some context: Our class was assigned a project where we had to use any art form at all to represent a chapter of our liking, from our Literature syllabus. I was naturally excited for it, but due to time restrictions, I could only manage to do colour changes which would represent what the chapter...

    Combining GSOH Concepts

Aah, you were the person who popped up on my feed. Great work by the way. You really hit the nail on the head with those moves!

Good video camera for online posting

True. For some reason, bad visuals are forgiven somewhat, but bad lighting coupled with bad audio? No Sir. Also, I've used Filmora (the free version) to edit some small videos for my family here and there, and it's really capable. It also comes with stock sound effects. I can imagine that the...

    Card related pickup-lines

"If you were a card, I'd pick you." (Lame, yes, but the really funny ones are all PG, check them out here https://www.theory11.com/forums/threads/terrible-pickup-lines.51652/ :D ) Pick-up lines as a group, tend not to work. They result in some great laughs though... Unless you're a member of...

Good video camera for online posting

TLDR; What's your budget? Are you going to learn/do you already have some photography/filming knowledge? Do you want to be able to colour correct and colour grade? *** To be very frank, your phone's good enough. There are also apps like Filmora Pro which can help you if you want different...

    No Stupid Questions

They are simply collectibles, often really precious and give you bragging rights because they are rare. They are like a piece of art in their own, can make your wall look amazing and are also a great point of conversation. While I'm sure a creative individual can come up with a 'practical' use...

Article in LA Times about Magic Castle - L.A.’s storied Magic Castle shaken by allegations of sexual

It's not that people don't like it all of a sudden. People (especially the communities, races, genders and sexes being made fun of) have never liked it. It's just that we speak out loud now.

Article in LA Times about Magic Castle - L.A.’s storied Magic Castle shaken by allegations of sexual

I am really surprised that the Magic Castle stands as tall and mighty in the magic community as it did years ago, seemingly without taking any measures against discriminatory and just simply offensive comments, especially when these cases are clearly not isolated cases (look at the horrifying...
