This is a really good tip. Thank you!

@MohanaMisra They should definitely hire you for marketing :D

    Continuing Magic

What kind of magic do you want to learn? If you're doing card magic, Roberto Giobbi's Card College is going to crop up pretty soon. I can think of someone (ahem) whose going to tell you to get Vanishing Inc.'s Magic In Mind ebook. I'll second this advice. For one, it's totally free (just sign up...

    How are you doing?

What's been said before: If you've already put some work into a sleight and feel it's decent, share it with us on the forums. Many people will be happy to give you a few tips and pointers. Apart from people, most wisdom can be found in books. Where are you learning from at the moment? Lastly...

Brief intro and “wise advice “?

Welcome, Chief, nice to meet you! I like your taste for magicians and musicians already -- Ricky Jay is one of my favorite magicians as well, and as a drummer I love Porcupine Tree's Gavin Harrison. Great to have you here!

    Jason England's Gambling Museum

Thank you so much, Josh, this is incredibly interesting! My favorite of the items shown is probably the pretzel right in the beginning, it's really interesting to see a rather little-known scam explained and how much thinking went into it. Jason mentioned the Razzle in there as well; if...

    People actually liked this guy??

All right, April 1. is nearly over in my part of the world, so to everybody's relief I can stop posting semi-funny comments again. :p Enjoy your last hours, everyone!

    People actually liked this guy??

*Tip imaginary hat* Yeah, loads better than what you usually see these days ... that guy Merlin (Mirlo? Marlo?) should have taken a page out of his book ...

What misdirection do you use in your magic tricks?

It's not a course, but an e-book, and it doesn't cost anything. I second MohanaMisra's advice to get it; the first chapter alone made me rethink my approach to magic (and I didn't have much experience in magic, either). If it actually cost something, I'd say it's more than worth the money...

    Getting started in mentalism

All right, you've got me convinced, I'm buying. But it's got a heck of a job to live up to the expectations you built :D

    People actually liked this guy??

Just to do a little bit of know-it-all nit-picking, his real name was something like David Frederick Wingfield Verner. Other than that, completely agree with everything you say. I mean, have you seen his cups and balls routine? So obvious what he does there, and for those dimwits who didn't get...

    Books/Resources on Trick Decks?

If you're interested in a particular and not very well known kind of gimmicked deck, Jason England has a video on the n-stripper here at T11: https://store.theory11.com/products/sub-rosa-by-jason-england The trailer is a little over the top, but the system has some advantages over more common...

    The Problem with Magic.

Though I agree with most of what you said, let me play devil's advocate here: My sister's really good at making sketches of different things, in different styles. It's usually not displayed anywhere, she just draws in her little books until it's filled with many different pictures, some of which...

Riffle Shuffle with Bicycle Cards - New deck and beginner - Need Help!

What MohanaMisra said: Practice riffling the whole deck (or half the deck, if you want to start slow) without weaving the cards. This is more difficult with new cards, because the edges are still "sharp" (as they are freshly cut) and not yet rounded by time and use, plus there are still tiny...

    World Tour Magic

I agree with most of what you say, and I'm glad for your first-hand perspective on the Indian subcontinent. The two main reasons why I'm still a bit averse towards card magic in this context is a) that I wouldn't want to be immediately marked as "that western foreigner" (enough other things are...

    World Tour Magic

I'm sorry, you misunderstood the scenario. I was talking about touring the world as low-budget as is possible (backpacking, hitchhiking etc.), and was thinking about what kind of magic you would do, just for fun or to make an extra Buck. Sorry if that was unclear before. Apart from that tiny...
