For the Self Tying Shoelaces trick, do you have to build the gimmick? If so is it hard to build?

I didn't buy the trick from theory 11, but the way I got it, no you don't have to build it. However, it needs to be set up prior to performance which is difficult out in the open. The only DIY you have to do is customising the shoelace, if you want to change the colour.

    Rough and smooth cards,

I would advise getting a roughing stick so you can use any cards you want

    ECT's Glide (and unintended vanishes...)

I'm pretty terrible at the cull, but the DMB spread control is a really good use of it as a control, or even a palm (you can learn it on theory11). Moves like this use things like a switch to cover a cull. I have found though one of the cull's best uses is to control multiple selections, in...

Eric Chien AGT Performance Summer 2019

I saw Eric Chien lecture at Blackpool. He revealed his Imagination Coin act. It is quite complex and there are a lot of things going on in it. If you want to try and recreate it, learn his retention (on his dvd Coin). He also uses a set of coin gaffs, but I'm not sure with it would be exposure...

    Farmers Market magic questions

I don't think you need a tent, a table outside is probably better as more people can see your performance as they walk past and might stop to watch. I have performed at an event a little like the one you describe but I was doing a walk around type performance. I would say performing on a table...

    Funny Gags?

People find it really funny when a magic trick goes wrong. So if you do a trick with a kicker ending that seems like it has gone wrong at first, people will always laugh. Not a gag but it works well.

    Cherry Picked Cuts.

They all look quite similar - I’m not sure the spectator would notice the difference. However in cycle three your injogs between the packets were less obvious, so I’d say it looked the best.

    DYSON by Simon Black

Here's a clip of Simon performing a sandwich routine, is Dyson used here? If so, you can probably learn this in Project S, which you can get here: https://www.ellusionist.com/project-s-by-simon-black.html I don't actually know what Dyson is though, but Simon says in the performance that the...

    Ungimmicked matching cube?

UPDATE: I purchased the Takamiz Usui lecture and it is really great - I would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn some cube magic. The matching effect taught is also great, and while it is not as clean as gimmicked effects (Venom Cube, Perfect Square, etc) it is still really good and I’m...

    Ungimmicked matching cube?

Hi everyone, I recently purchased Cube 3 by Steven Brundage, and learnt most of the material on it. I'd say the best by far is the technique that allows you to perform the bag and behind the back solve, however this is originally an idea from The Cube. While it is cool to solve a cube...

Where can I learn the sleights in this video?

Tony Chang has a download on this on theory11 8:25 - Alex Pandrea’s Fan control. this is...

Have you ever fooled a magician with a double lift? What do you think is the best double lift?

I perform a version of a push off double. I believe the cleanest doubles are the ones that just look like you're flipping over a card normally.

Presenting the Magician's Choice - Suggestions?

The only time someone called me out for doing a magician's force is when they saw me do it for three performances. As long as you act confidently, no one will notice anything fishy going on. Especially with only two choices, you don't need to worry about them catching on. Hope this helps!

    The Equivoque Force or Choice

When I perform magician's force, I find that it helps to vary the choices you ask your spectator. I might to place a pile in my hand, and then to place their hands on two piles, and then lift one up etc. This way it doesn't seem suspicious because you don't repeat the same action but with...
