Believe - Card-to-Pocket?

Hey Everyone,

My question isn't really about Joel Paschall's "Believe". I have already perfected that. I was just wondering if anyone out there could tell me how Joel performed the intro trick in the very beginning. You know the one where the guy and girl were sitting at the table and Joel asked what card the girl was thinking about and he had it in his pocket already?

I'm hoping someone could explain that trick for me or at least lead me to where I can find out about it...

Thanks,

Kelly

Don't really remember it, but maybe he does some kind of force - like the one done in Dan & Dave's Commercial - think it's a 1 on 1 here on Theory 11...
Don't know...

Guys,

This is not for us to break down and decipher. If Joel wanted us to know what he did, he'd have taught it in the DVD. We don't have to expose it here for people who don't own the DVD or for those who aren't familiar with the methods.

If you have to ask, you're not at the level you should be to do it anyway.

And if you want to ask, ask Joel, not us.

This should be deleted.

Pj's right. If you have to ask to do that particular effect, you're probably not ready to do it yet.

Guys,

I edited and/or removed a few posts because this is not exactly the best place to discuss the methods behind an effect; be sure check out our exposure guidelines in the forum rules.

However, feel free to provide sources where one can learn a Card-to-Pocket effect. For example, there is one found in "The Expert at the Card Table" by S.W. Erdnase, which is an excellent, highly-recommended book for anyone interested in card magic and advanced techniques thereof.

Thanks, guys.

I'm just going to throw this out there- Joel is da bomb at palming. Maybe I had just never seen anyone palm well before or something, but he was really good. He taught me, too. :D

And no, the card wasn't forced in any way, guys. Anyways, this is getting close to exposure. So I'm going to stop typing.

I use Marc's Bang-On for a thought of card, well to wallet...but the wallet's in your pocket so it looks the same if not more difficult to the spectator as they see you just have one card in there..

Stops them thinking you have an entire deck in your pocket and can some how pick out what ever card through an incredible touch marking system :P

Bang-On is also on offer on Marc's site, go buy it. It's awesome.

Plug End. :P
