It depends on if you want something that will freak people out mentally or freak people out visually. Distortion is a great visual card trick that makes spectators think that their eyes are playing tricks on them. Control is a trick that makes an impact on spectators mentally. It shows them that you can stop your heart and come back to life which is really freaky if you think about it. It's is a more serious trick, its for people with a more serious attitude (although wayne is a bit goofy at times), something that david blaine might do. Not so much for Distortion.
I have both DVDs and i love them both.. so i can't really say which one you should get. It really depends on you. But I'll tell you my experience with both.
Control: My friend doesn't even want me to do this trick 'cause it freaks her out too much.
I also performed it for another group of people and once I stopped my pulse, my friend took her hands off my wrist and sort of shrieked. I could tell she was freaked out.
Distortion: I performed Distortion in my math class and with people crowding around, everybody was in awe while i moved the pips. They were confused but amazed at the same time.
