You know whats ironic.. He's trying to sell his magic set on the show, yet when you see commercials for it on TV, he literally cannot be arsed enough to endorse his own product, that they have to get a bad impersonator.

It was OK from what I saw of the clip, Criss did a generic razor swallowing act, and then went onto to try an sell his magic set. (which is why I pointed out how ironic and unprofessional it is.) Because when you see the ads for it on TV, he can't even be bothered to endorse his own product. Like he doesn't think his fans won't be able to tell the difference between him and a guy in a bad wig and a hat.

I don't like where this is going; we can't have a thread on Criss Angel without people bashing him. Please, show Criss some respect. Of course he's selling his magic set when it just came out not too long ago. Of course he is making sales, but maybe you can think that he wants more people to get into magic? They gave the magic kit away to everyone in the audience, which are mainly adults. I guarantee at least one of the people in the audience will continue with magic after doing tricks from the kit. Being someone who has never done magic before, the kit looks like it has some really great starter tricks. Criss did the classic color cube trick that comes with the set and it got great reactions. This makes people want to learn from it and perform. Can't you guys think about it that way?

The only thing I didn't like about his Razor Blade trick was that he looked like he was having a seizure midpoint through the performance. To laymen, it's still impossible or shows an extreme amount of skill. I respect Criss, and even though you may have negative things to say about Criss, just keep most of it to yourselves. Saying bad things about a fellow magician doesn't help the artform either...

Agreed. Wheather you like him or hate him you have to give him props for trying to get more people in the art of magic. Sure the seizure thing in his performance of the razor blade effect was a bit weird but whatever, it was still a good performance and further helps our art. Please stop bashing him, it's not getting us anywhere.

Guys I hate to see any magician bashed no matter who he is, it's terrible for the artform. C'mon have some respect for Criss, he's just trying to make a living while doing what he loves. He does it in his own style just like anyone else would.

Keep it cool,

LOL...some of you guys crack me. You have no credibility when you can't evaluate a performance objectively. That was a bad ass performance - if Justin Kredible or Dan Sperry did this effect in that style you guys would have been talking about how good it was.

This is why magic isn't respected because we don't respect those who actually represent us well to the layman. Compare his demeanor, dress, and casual conversation style with Lopez with those who was on the David Letterman show....be serious and realistic....think about who would layman rather relate to and find cooler. The ones that appear on Letterman were completely out of touch and lacked any ability to relate to the current layman. They talked old, dressed old, and acted on a script with no ability to actually have a normal fun conversation.

He gave away his kit; how many magicians started with a simple kit and worked their way up? What's wrong with that? If he didn't then you guys would be saying how selfish he was..LOL! If Justin Kredible gave away a bunch of magic kits to an Ellen audience you guys would saying how awesome he was.

Have some adult perspective here and look at things for what they are.

thats evaluating the performance in a complete void, its the context people are objecting to. Anybody can have one great performance or present something well, but its the other aspects of Angel that people judge him for which is entirely justified in my opinion.

Here's a hypothetical situation, you have a completely vile person, i mean terrible like he pushes old ladies into traffic or he's a lawyer or something. Now through a series of events he comes to prosecute a Crime Boss. He wins the case and puts him away, all the awhile making a big bank roll. Is he a good man? Is he the kind of person we should look up to or respect? Or is his performance in the courtroom just incidental and doesn't really change what he is at the core.

Im just saying, people think we should look at each thing without taking the rest into consideration, im not trying to bash anyone just saying be realistic.

My point was this. Go watch "His" commercials for the exact same magic kit on youtube. You will notice (and if you don't, you must be completely daft and blind.) that Criss couldn't even bothered enough to appear in his own commercial and endorse his own freaking product. I could careless if he was selling it on Ellen or Good Day America. The point still stands that he "all of sudden" decided to sell it on Lopez Tonight. Meaning they must have decided to pay him a lot of money.
