Well, I've never ordered a Lassen ] but I know that Schoocraft's are excellent. I also have an old Keupper shell that is pure crap, so I'd stay away from those.

Whats the big difference between them all? In looks and so on? Arent they made of real coins from the begining?

Any discussion on coin gimmicks should include Johnson's gaffs as well in all honesty.

Lassen and Schoolcraft are about the same by many reports from individuals owning coin sets and gaffs from both individuals. Currently I only have a few of Schoolcraft's gaffs so I can't really compare.

Eric Jones had a few of the Johnson flipper coins when I saw him last and they were all excellent gaffs.

RK's shells are decent for the market they are sold and great for practice work.

Most all are made from real coins and some are actually comprised of different materials. Personally I prefer the Dean's set because they are matched so well to the coin set but I dislike that I am locked into getting Dean's set coins because regular coins won't fit the [.

RK and Johnson are low to mid-range in terms of price and also produced in larger quantities than Lassen/Schoolcraft. Lassen and Schoolcraft make coins to order and to your specific needs whereas the RK/Johnson are made for general use and come in limited coin types.

Yes, they are all made form real coins. The process though of making the gaffs differ. For instance, some expansion methods for ]'s distort the face making them look, well...distorted. How much the ] covers the coin is also something that differs. Basically the goal is to make the gaffs as realistic and functional as possible. Some people/methods are better at this than others.
