It's very interesting and explains the move that he used that put him in a hospital when cheating at a card table.

The thing is that it's written in huge font, so you might have 2 copy n paste 2 bring it down a bit.

Just wanted to share because I haven't seen this before.

Very interesting. DM is and I'm pretty sure always will be my favourite artist, I love his magic, flourishing and outlook on magic.

It's cool to learn some more in-depth stuff. DM seems such a cool, laid back down to earth guy when you go a little deeper than the Guardian's trailer. Very inspiring too.

I can't beleive the story on how he got caught, because I've heard the like 50 versions of the same story. The one that I thought was the most realistic was he was on a hidden camera show about cheating, and he demonstrated cheating techniqes while playing poker, and he's ear piece malfunctioned, exposing his cheats.

Ive always believed D+M's version.when he was on bbc.
Apologies to dannyT.I had assumed that was the interview he was talking about for some reason.

Perhaps DM didn't want to get too specific about it and then changed his mind afterwards. Maybe that is why you have heard a few versions. I do agree though that there have been a few versions of the story... In general though this is how it goes:

DM was a card cheat.
DM got caught and that landed him in a hospital
DM started magic.

Great little about me page. I read that a while back. I like DM. I'm a fan of his style and the way he creates things. I admire him and he was the reason I got into flourishing in the first place. While I might not use a lot of his material as many of his effects are gimmicked up like mad, they are still great effects and those who like gimmicks will love his stuff. He also has great non-gimmicked stuff. His flourishes are awesome. Watching DM do Lethal X inspired me to get into flourishing. I am a fan of DM.

Daniel is not only a great magician (though he'd probably dislike me calling him that), but a great guy.

Back in the day, there was an *underground* generalised flourishing site called 'cheaterscheater.com'.

This site was dedicated to card flourishing, coin and chip tricks, pen spinning, any type of flourishing at all, really. I was quite young then, but knew that what i was seeing was VERY special.
I was having trouble at the time with finding a good T&R effect (this was BC- before captain Garcia!), and I wanted to ask for help from the guy's who, at the time, i thought could help me out most. I Emailed Daniel, and he recommended the best he could, a very novel flash restoration handling.

I haven't spoke to him in a while, but he's a friend of a friend, and I doubt Dee wouldn't associate if D+M wasn't still a super cool guy!
