Digital Dissolve or Universal Impression

They are two VERY different effects.
Are you more of a close up kind of guy?
OR
do you prefer the 'mysterious mentalist' look?
Tell us some more! It's not something anyone will divine for you, whether one is better than the other - because there is no saying this. There is no better effect, and I myself am not a mentalist so I can't read you're mind.
Either give us more information, or read a few reviews and make up your mind.

I really hate threads like this.
Even when the products are similar, asking "which should I get" is so pointless.
Asking for comparisons of the two, or reviews on them would be one thing, but just 'make a decisions for me' is so pointless and lazy.

Don't get either of them, if you can't decide how can we? We're not you, what might work for us might not work for you.
If you can't decide which you are gonna get the most mileage out of, chances are you're better off finding something where you can decisively say "That is the type of effect for me."

Just to make things clear, Universal Impression isn't so much of an effect as a utility device to accomplish certain effects.
The DVD does teach certain effects, but really after that the creative use of the device is to your own imagination. I got it the other day and I have to say it's a very versatile easy-to-use device for someone new to these kind of things... However, I'm not experienced in impression devices so beyond being someone new to these and saying it's good and easy to use... can't be much more help.

I don't think anyone's trying to make anyone feel bad here buddy, but when it comes to these threads which are in abundance nigh on daily... It can get a tad repetitive when they can be answered by the person themselves y'know?
The best opinion for a question like this is your own, if you can't make up your own opinion, scour the internet for reviews and come to some sort of conclusion.
It'll be far better than 7 posts saying do/don't buy this. As I've said before... our opinion is our opinion and we're not you... So it's not really gonna be all that helpful, hmm...Okay, I might think that Universal Impression is much better than Digital Dissolve because it suits me more. However, someone else might then say Digital Dissolve is better because it's more visual and happens in the spectators hands.
Can you see why that doesn't help you at all? My opinion on Universal Impression doesn't help because my style is my style, not yours. And the person talking about Digital Dissolve is so caught up in the whole omfglolvisualmagickz that they forget you don't like ending not entirely clean. Get my drift?

I have a very biased oppinion but I will say there is so much you can do with Universal Impression and it looks like real mind reading. Its so easy a 7 yr old could do it.
I am a fairly nice guy and I tend to do the right thing but I can be harsh and somewhat realistic.
If you feel bad because of what somewhat wrote then you gotta be tougher and understand where they are coming from. Like it was stated, this could easily be determined by you if you read the reviews, watched the demos and other vids, know what you want and do research. Idk if many people own both of these effects since they are both very different, then again I am different and own both of these. I don't like digital dissolve that much and Universal is just so good that they will be looking and finding nothing.
If this was what you were looking for then you could have definitely found what you needed by reading reviews. I know it sounds harsh but these questions become old very fast.

is it really necesary to buy something new???
from your signature I can see that you are working on a lot of things, I wonder why would you like more???
As stated before, try doing some research in those things you like, also you must ask yourselve if that trick that you are lookng, can adapt to your performance style, or necessities....
Take exile for an example... it looked like a great "must have" effect, but it really doesn't goes with my presentation and the kind of guy that I am, so I instead bought "the paper engine" and boy, I am sure happy with it.

I LOVE U.I. it's one of the best things I've bought over the last year or so and anyone that knows me will tell you how much magic I get hold of!
I've got a little 'Black and Red' A7 notebook I've put mine in, it's a slightly different install to any taught on the DVD (which by the way is packed with awesome stuff) but like Shaun said above it gives limitless possibilities.
You have good presentation skills for performing mentalism. I think you'd do much more incredible things with the U.I. than is possible with a copper/silver transpo.

I am getting these in a month from now for christmas and if you saw in my sig. you would see that I have basically perfected everything I had on there and am just finishing up a few touches on the couple of things that are left on there.
