Im new to the forums and would love a head start. It would really make me more confident and you would know for the rest of your life that you changed someones life for the better and helped hugley with there magic. Even if I dont get it im sorry you have t go as you seem like a nice person giving your account away. I hope you live long and enjoy life. - Alfie :)

What do you mean by head start? Like, the post count would make you seem more experienced?

How can this hugely help your magic...? It's an account, there is nothing more you can do on this account than you can do on the one you have right now...

Sorry Tumble, I think your ego is a little out of check for even starting this thread. I'm not sure the admins would recommend it either.

I do commend you though for leaving due to personal reasons instead of the usual childish "I don’t like what everyone here says so I'm going to pout and take my things and leave." To me there are two options: make it a better place or move on. There’s no need to announce to the peasants that their ruler is leaving.

If you ever need anything dont hesitate to let me know.

I agree... It's as if the thought process is like you're wanting to create a memorial of some sort:

a) I shall not post here anymore
b) People shall miss me, (at least seeing the name, The Tumbleweed) as anonymous as it is to post on a forum, anyway.
c) Let me comfort the bereaving community in it's loss of myself, by at least bequeathing the title of "The Tumbleweed" onto someone else (who has a totally different voice, magic perspective, experiences and try as he/she may, will not ever post the way I would). May the mere sight of my name comfort them in their sorrow, yet lift their hearts and inspire them to... post more than I?

Not totally trying to be a butt, but I have to let my sarcasm rant and express itself...

I sort of see it that way too. Not trying to be rude, but seriously, why would someone want to become you? Why not be there own person? This is a problem with magicians now days, they always try to be someone else. Just be yourself, be your own performer. Be original. Maybe it's just me.

Cheers

Is it just me? Or you guys take things a little bit to seriously?

I kinda know him and he is no way egocentrical about this, maybe (just like me) he sees it kinda like a funny thing to do, but yeah, to each his own.

Not trying to take things too seriously, I just feel it would be weird for someone to become The Tumbleweed. After all, they aren't the real Tumbleweed. Why not just keep your own account? I'm not saying he's egotistical in any way, if you took it that way, sorry.

I myself do not want to be The Tumbleweed, but I think it's good idea. Maybe instead of The Tumbleweed being a single person, it could be a title of honor given to a different forum member each year. The previous Tumbleweed would choose the next one and so on. I think it could be a cool tradition. A forum member who shows good, helpful qualities would be chosen as The Tumbleweed.

Just an idea...

There we go!! Someone gets it!!
High five DaveyG!
I in no way want someone new to become me, only to take the name of The Tumbleweed. You can keep your opinions, and write what you want, only you'll be the second Tumble. Then there'll be the 3rd, and the 4th, and so on.
If some of you disagree, just take a step back and see how many people like the idea. By the end of today, I will have made my decision on who to give it to, but until then, let's keep it all positive, shall we? :D

The Tumbleweed's signature should read something like this:

The Tumbleweed III
Formerly known as dragonslayer88

The Tumbleweed is a title given to only the most elite of forum members. The Tumbleweed must always welcome a new member, offer good advice to those in need, and be awesome.

The Roman Numerals would display which generation of Tumbleweed they are, and their user name would contain a link to their old account.

Edit: Just came up with another idea, when The Tumbleweed's term is over, he could select four candidates that community could vote for.

Still, I think you ego is out of check...I mean in ellusionist they have this thing that says Elite member that I really don´t like, because it somehow says that the elites are better than the others..

besides I insist why would somebody wanna be somebody else?...I know some people here liked the idea but I hope for they own respect and self-estem that they are joking and this thread should be looked like a joke.

there is no honor in having your name (that is actually a nickname) don´t be so egotistical, I think you are trying by saying "only you'll be the second Tumble" that we all shall remember you, instead on staying here and continue posting and contributing you wanna glorify your departure by giving the "honor" of having your name..

if you are going to leave, just leave peacefully and quietly, don´t make it a big deal....

I might be interpreting it wrong, but the idea of giving someone the name is to show that they are someone that can help you out. Just like the elites on the E forums.

In my opinion, I really don't see it that way.

I mean just because someone might hold the name 'The Tumbleweed' doesn't mean they hold the power to help you out or to post helpful posts.

I really don't see a point to this anyways.

So true.
Id rather have steerpike back. He really contributed alot to this forum and shot down the people that needed to be taken down a peg.

So true. Steerpike contributed a lot to these forums.

Also, I see that if you want to post helpful advice do it because you want to and because you really want to help, not because you want to obtain the name 'The Tumbleweed'.

Yet there are post from some us that have real insight on true experiences that get no responses and you wonder why most us don't stay around. Why help when your advice runs mute almost makes you wonder what's the point. I post very little now not because of lack of recognition but lack of stimulation to the topic in hand, I've made efforts and freely gave sound advice on mutliple occasions and not a single reply was given to my post. Just saying go on with your bad self Tumbleweed trust me when I tell you you'll learn more on your own rather than listening to someone that just wants to hear themselves speak. Peace

That doesnt mean they were'nt absorbed or taken as good advice by others. It just means you didnt get 100 replies saying "yeah, I agree with Shane" but I do agree that a "thanks man, I'll consider that" would'nt take much of an effort.

I understand it seems to happen alot around here was my point and the fact that alot of the guys that have been doing this for a long time that are taking their time out of their days to help others are done and leaving the forums since their thoughts go un-noticed. A little conversation goes a long way sometimes.
