Effect Creating Amnesia

Hi guys!

Effects, where you create amnesia to spectator always fascinated me. There's number of them in the market. I decided to go for James Brown's Cerebral Steal. Pretty much what it is, is you show them the card and then make
them forget it.

Have a look at my attempts, and tell me what do you think :)

(it's a second effect on this video so if you don't want to wait, skip to 2:30)

There was a book out that used this principle. DR is quite common, personally I would of went with the book even though the name escapes my mind. Ironic considering it is dedicated on making your participants forget things like cards, colors of their shirts, etc. Nice performance though!

Thanks a lot, KeoSilver. Do you think you would be able to find out what was that book? I would be very interested in it. I was trying to get some help on another forum, but no one really could help be with resources.

There's a number of sources on Dual Reality including some material in the Psychological Subtleties trilogy I believe as well as the earlier works of Patrick Redford and Kenton Knepper (who was probably one of the earlier workers to use this principle). I've heard of but yet to see a book that deals with this exclusively so I'm uncertain that it's actually out as of yet. That means you would have to collect and look through several different publications.

I just did a bit of looking up and the book was one of Patrick Redford's books. Its name is Glemme.

Craig Browning, thanks. These would be great for stage performances, but I'm looking for something that would fit the close-up performance as well, and DR in this case might not work that well. I read all three volumes of PS, there are some great concepts, but I think in my case I need to look rather for some routine with suggestion.

KeoSilver, I've checked some reviews of Glemme, and it seems great. Thanks, there might be some interesting material.

Glemme is a pure DR routine whereas CS whilst the back up method is based on DR there is a genuine psychological methodology to either heighten the effect or create it

I wasn't aware of that. I'm actually looking for psychological method rather than DR, so that it could be performed in close-up. In this case maybe Glemme is not the best solution for me. Is there any book or dvd, on waking hypnosis you could advice me, D ICE R?

That's great, thanks. I've got Professional Opportunist, but James does not go much into details with how these things work in general, only offers a few routines of his own (which are very good nevertheless), but I'll check this James Tripp material, title seems like exactly, what I was looking for. Thanks!
