Inevitably, from experience, debates regarding politics deteriorate very quickly into mudslinging matches where two sides with lots of mud but very little knowledge just gun away at each other with insults. It's not a magician thing, but rather, a forum thing.

While I disagree with the implication that it's not possible to have a civil, respectful, professional discussion on any topic, I do agree that this forum is not the best venue for political topics.

That said - cheers to the USA for a relatively smooth election day (except for the long lines!), and for now, let's get back to the magica...
