Recently, a friend of mine began asking me about pickpocketing so I decided to look into it real quickly and I came across the Encyclopedia of Pickpocketing. It looks like it could be worth while, but at the same time I am always a bit suspicious when it comes to unknown things. I have looked for a review on this and I can not find one anywhere. What is everyone's opinion on this one???

Have you checked websites other than T11? I know I've seen reviews around for it.

I saw some of disc 2. Between that and what I've read I'd say it's a good set to gain knowledge from, but there's some bits that you're going to be slogging through. It looks like a very low budget production, nothing like the shiny stuff we're used to from T11/Houchin/the Bucks. But Byrd and Coats are obviously very knowledgable and they do explain everything thoroughly. I haven't seen a reviewer that wasn't happy with the purchase and most say that it's very thorough.

hey, i own the dvd with byrd and coats. If i was you i wouldn't waste your money. They have a very abrasive and rough handling with spectators and tend to manhandle people. I would highly recommend instead Jim Ravel's book Theatrical Pickpocketing and Chappy Brazil's watch steal dvd. Both are really nice resources. Look up some of Apollo robbins stuff, in his podcast and his latest interview which is in another recent thread he gives some other resources which are really good. Overall, i would NOT recommend Byrd and Coats
