That's awesome.

I hear good things from Close UP, The Real Secrets of Magic by David Stone.
(30 dollar book, not a bad price) that helps with what tables to choose, how to get into magic and how to get out of it. Probably my next purchase magic-wise, as I have enough 'magic' as it is, I need more theory on my shelves.

Excellent recommendation, the routines are solid and the advice is pure gold.

Sounds' good I will look it up. Does anyone know if Maximum Entertainment have a section dedicated to Restaurant work or does all the advice relate?

It's not as black and white as "Do X card trick."

But for someone who's adventuring out into the working world of magicians it's solid advice.

Sorry Ramo, not everything I will say is clear cut and to the point. I do get my zen moments from time to time.

For having just joined the Magic Castle you'd do well to learn the lessons behind that advice as well.

Draven was just warning you to be careful out there, alot of magicians will be a great help to you, but at the same time alot of magicians could come along and undercut you, to put it in uber black and white.

Just work hard and keep on rockin'

Well, Here I have only met one magician in my entire life and he tried to ovepower me when I was just starting magic...

things are very different now, I have learned everything I know on my own and I just try to keep improving each day,I really think is better to do all by yourself

I agree a lot of your study should be solo. But having good friends in magic can help when you're stuck for a move or just want to session/jam.

Be careful who you do it with, a lot of magicians will pawn your hard work off as their own, but it's not hard to find some who are honest deceivers...magicians, whatever.

yes, I think you´re right, unfortunately here are only magicians with a coat and a hat, that got stuck with rabbits and doves... they despise the magic I do, because is not part of the "tradition"

so I´m on my own in my city.

Understandable. As long as you continue to grow as a magician you should make it out okay.

Some of my best sessioning has been through PM's and Emails, some people even send videos back and forth. Just food for thought
