Bit dark but not all of us can afford pro lighting, the style was great though. Flourishes weren't smooth and one bit looked sped up but I still enjoyed it.

Yeah we shot it at night, but didn't bring enough lights with us. I'm glad you liked the style. Yeah I'm still trying to smooth out the flourishes. Haha yeah one was sped up just because of time constraints (the video had to be exactly 60sec long, no longer, no less)

I appreciate the feedback!

Hey guys! So I had to make a minute long commercial for my Digital Video Fundamentals class and I decided it would be awesome to do a cardistry video to advertise a deck of cards. This is my first real attempt at flourishing (I'm still very new to it) so I'd love any feedback you might have!

Thanks!

The cards themselves weren't introduced well. Didn't seem like the focal point of the commercial.
You took attention away from the cards and more just to your flourishing.
The ending to abrupt.

How would you suggest that I introduce them then? I thought it was pretty straightforward. As for the ending, I was limited to exactly 60 seconds and a certain number of shots so that was the best I could while still meeting the required guidelines

60 seconds is a good amount of time for a commercial. as most commercials usually get the point of their ad in less than a minute or two. when you took the cards from your jacket you immediately went to flourishes.
The storyboard and script of the commercial would have to be different if you wanted the cards to be the center of the ad not your hands.
Id say 20 seconds to introduce just the cards 30 seconds of fast paced or slow rythmic flourishing(displays are a must) and then a nice ten second wrap up of the cards displayed by themselves or a conclusion advertising the "quality" of the deck.
