Hi guys, I was wondering if there are any fruit magic effects in the market. I have an upcoming presentation about obesity and healthy lifestyle in 2 months and I hope that I can learn a fruit magic effect to entertain the examiners halfway through my presentation. Thanks in advance.

Here is a list of what I know:

1.Dollar in fruit
2.Orange lemon and egg
3.Fruit Salad by El Duco
4.The Orange Tree Illusion by John and Jack Moyer
5. Color changing apple

I've seen a nice effect thats more comedy than magic. It was an effect where you produce foam banannas..

Ray Kosby has a nice effect where you take out a red apple and as you take a bite it changes green. I believe its on his first video. Not impossible card magic.

There are some other non fruit effects that might go with your theme

The foam chicken sandwich could be a nice gag. Thats the one where you open the slices of foam bread and theres a towel chicken.

Cans from Kevin Parker is where you produce coke cans... There are a million effects regarding soda which would be perfect given the presidents new focus on sugar based drinks... (sinful, fizzmaster...)

I hope that helps!

Bob Dunn had a book called Magic for All. It had a orange to apple trick that looked good. Garrett Thomas has a DVD with an orange to apple also that is good.
Gary Kurtz has a trick where a couple of fruits are combined in his Unexplainable Acts book. I think it's called Orange.

There is a famous effect with a grapefruit, lemon, egg and canary. I don't know where it's published but Tommy Wonder performed a version. You may want to examine his work.

There are the classic effects where you tear an apple in half by previously sewing thread beneath the skin.

The trick where you cut a banana into slices through the skin by previously cutting it with a needle.

Martin Gardner's encyclopedia of Impromptu Magic had tricks and gags with fruit.

My apple trick is in my lecture notes Tricks and on my DVD Impossible Closeup Magic.

When I was younger I used to perform a signed bill to lemon effect in most of my performances. I would have the bill signed, placed into an envelope, burned, then found in impossible location.

It honestly made no sense in the context of my act (I was young), but the reactions were always on point. For something like this, I think that effect would go over VERY well in the context of your performance. Could easily do it with a whole basket of fruit - oranges, lemons, limes, etc - and start the presentation by talking about the different nutrition choices someone can make with a single $20 bill - and then go into the effect.

Thank you all for the useful information. I'll spend some time to research on these effects before I decide which to use for my presentation.
