Does anyone know of any really good sites to sumbit magic to? Me and a friend have a routine that is enitirely mental and are looking for a site where we can get our money's worth. We are considering Ellusionist, but we just aren't sure. Does Penguin accept submissions? I have heard good stuff about Mental Playground as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah like tumble said there's no real point in not submitting a trick somewhere unless you know you will not go through with a certain company even if they accept. Not sure if penguin accepts but you should try.
So yeah:
E
Penguin
T11
M.P
Papercrane

...everywhere lol

Sometimes it's better for you to keep the trick awhile and perform it a ton before releasing it so that it creates a reputation for itself and there will be a lot more anticipation when you decide to release it. Just something I've seen other magicians do...it's definitely worked too.

thanks for all the feedback guys. I will definitely try submitting this to theory11. i didn't know they took submissions before. and to answer a couple questions. I have been doing magic for just over a year, I am mostly in to sleight of hand with cards. but when my friend told me about his idea for a mentalism effect...i flipped. IT IS UNLIKE ANYTHING ON THE MARKET. We are very excited to get this out in the real world. ( but we still have some final touches to put on it, and we need to work on the patter a bit). but i know we will be able to make people remember us for years and years (until they get old and forget everything). As soon as we are prepared to put out a demo I will post it here.

A years in magic is not a lot...You really should wait a bit longer. At least get a video up here and you can get some feedback.

Calledcrazy,
I think that if you are still working on patter and final touches and have only been doing it for less then a year you realy should not be putting out a dvd. Most great effects and dvds you see by people like Bill Malone, Dan Tong, David Stone and the likes have been performing in the real world and developing and refining their effects for many many MANY years. Every great effect starts with an idea but needs to be refined until it can tear through even the most estute spectators. No disrespect intented.

If you can detail the routine a little more to myself or Dee Christopher, it may be considered by Mindlapse productions (Cinders, Proximity Effects, FreezerBurn, 23:23...)

I have to agree with some of the guys who've posted above, the magic effects that've sold the most, that've been the best magic has to offer, pretty much without fail have been in development for years. I'm sure you've got a great concept (although do do your research and make sure it's completely original if you claim it to be so - it may be unlike anything you've seen, but in a year of magic, I hate to say it and I don't want to sound discouraging but you really haven't seen a lot in only a year), but raw concepts make for pretty poor releases without the proper development.

Good luck with the project, I hope it does well.

dont let any one get you down about expeirience and all that stuff.....just wait till
you have everything perfected......i mean EVERTHING and it doesn't matter as much as people
say. and definetly put a vid up so we can "review it"

Don't put up a vid because THese sites won't accept them if everyone has seen it.
Make sure you are putting trick out there for the right reason. Don't forget to develop it the trick to the fullest. All of these Pro magicians have been doing this for a long long time! Don't rush it.

Hoped I helped.
