Help Routining Card Magic

I have been thinking about how I could routine some of my card magic.

Here is what I have so far:

4-for-4 switch to have the four tens selected by the spectator

Place Ten of Spades on one side of table, and Ten of Clubs on the other.

Pretend to make the two switch under the specs. hands, and then as a "super crazy kicker" make them switch back (this always gets a laugh).

Show that they actually switched back to your hands and the two cards on the table are the two red tens.

Then do Daley's Revenge with the Tens.

Next, do the Biddle Trick.

Have them sign the card, and then proceed to do CTM (card to mouth).

Lastly, somehow, I would like to close with Paperclipped by Jay Sankey (super crazy powerful)



Can I have some input? Is this all to much? Not enough? How could I go from CTM into Paperclipped? Any hints or notes or words of advice you could give me?

Have the paperclipped card on the table from the start, and note it as your "prediction" or "mystery" card.

Go through your routine as you have listed it and after you do CTM, casually put the selection back onto the face of the deck, go through your preparations for paperclipped and casually put the deck on the table to engage in some patter. Hand the cards out to a spectator to be shuffled one last time. Ribbon spread the cards on the table and ask, "do you notice anything interesting about your selection now?" after they say "no," say, "really, you don't see it now folded up and in the paperclip?" and voilla!

it might help if you put a theme to your act. Such as telling a story of you as a child seeing this great magician doing these magic in front of you and you where fascinated. So, you will now show the audience what you had witnessed.

something like that will make people interested in your act; rather than just doing a bunch of tricks.

Another way that you can overlook creating a magic routine is that you imagine you are writing a fiction. It has it's introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution

I would take the advices the guys above said. They are pretty good, but the last say still goes to you.As for me, I would only add to simplify your routine's format Here's what I understand of what you described.

1-4 for 4 switch
2-Daley's Last Trick Variation
3-Daley's Revenge
4-Biddle Trick
5-Card to Mouth
6-Paper Clipped

May I ask where are you going to perform this?If you are going to do it as a table hopping routine, it would be better to cut the rountine into 2 sets, if youre going to do it as a stand -up magic, well just work on your patter for the connection and transition.I like your structure by the way... I would suggest following the format next time you want to show a routine...

No no no...after I finish daleys revenge, the tens would go back into the pack, and it would get more intimate where the spectator is actually being more involved

Out of curiosity what is the set for? It all goes nicely together but what it is for will help determine the length of you set.
For example, for table hopping or restaurant work you could divide that into two sets.

Set 1: A one coin routine (for example), then bring out a deck of cards and do the effects with the four tens.

Set 2: Present prediction card Biddle, with a two-three phase acr with card to mouth and finish with paperclipped.

(just an example- but really depends on your presentation if those sets would work or not)
