Housing Idea for Magic-Con

I'm thinking of renting a place for the weekend off of Craigslist. There are several two-bedroom apartments for about $200/night. If enough people are interested, we could go in on a bigger place for more people and save a bit of cash.

I would love to stay at the Hilton where the conference is being held (my boss put me up there last summer and it was amazing), but my wife would probably castrate me if she found out I spent $450 on a hotel for the weekend.

About me as a roomie:

-I'm pretty chill

-I'm clean

-I make great drinks

-I have a pretty darn good deal of medical training (in case you have too many of the above-referenced drinks)

dude just jump in with some other people in a room. Im one of 4 dudes sharing a room and we're each throwing down like 130 or something (if i remember right). Get in on one of those situations. That way you can get up at any hour and go out into the heart of it all and jam or whatever. I thought about staying in a cheaper hotel near to the confrence but i want to be where its at so i don't miss anything.

Good luck though. Hope you figure it out.

That is so cool man! Just jump in to a cluster (FFFF). Throw down 130 and see who ends up making sense.

Not such a great idea. I could rent you a room but I wouldn't. People on Craigslist are ghetto. They might take your wallet. Is that okay as long as you are in your place?

Some CL people are pretty ghetto, but I have had nothing but good experiences on the vacation rentals section. I actually use it every time I take a trip that my boss doesn't pay for.

As for paying nearly $50 bucks a night to share a small room with 3 other guys who I don't know.... I think I'm going to pass on that idea. At least when renting an apartment for the weekend, I'll have my own room and the ability to shut the door to escape the loud snoring, 3am television watching, and other joys that roommates can bring.

Yeah, most people get sick of that kind of stuff. (The TV is too loud). I just figured that there is no reason to deal with people you don't know.
