Impromptu 5 Speed

I was messing around with the 5 speed trick and was trying to figure out a way to do it completely impromptu without the gimmick. This is an idea I came up with that I thought was pretty cool.

Force a card, have it returned and shuffled, talk about not being able to find their card. Say you are going to proceed with a different trick. Without letting the spectator see, remove two indifferent cards and their selection. Then proceed with the This and That or Color Monte trick. Have the final reveal be their selection. I've tested it out and it seems to work pretty well.

I have made a This N That variation similar to what you are talking about, it was when I first saw the trick on Youtube and discovered the method.

Basically you have two jokers and a random card (any will do) and get their card on top. While you hand out the three cards for examination you flip the top card on your hip so it is face up.

You place the cards on the top face up but with the top of the deck facing down (you may get what I mean). You show the Random card and put it on bottom of the small stack, the joker in the middle and then double lift the final joker so their card is loaded on the top of the small stack you do This N That with. Then proceed with the trick doing the necessary moves.

People always say this is their favorite card trick, well maybe as much as Witness at least. I like 5 Speed but I prefer my variation simply because there are no gimmicks and it's easier to do if you just crimp their card.

Yes but you won't always have the gimmick and mine is a 5 second set up also, but to each their own.

Also just in my opinion for my trick show all three cards in the very beginning that you will do This N That with, it makes a bit more fair to the audience.

hey is my vid what yours looks like?

Great vid. While I was reading trough this thread, that is exactly what I had in mind. Looks even better than in my head ;)

And it was me who gave it the name, but don't bother, I'm just glad you liked the name ;)

@Menalizing: I'm having a hard time picturing your way of showing three cards front and back... I mean I did it, but it looks like to many movement... Can you explain it a little better?

Thanx
