Hey guys,

I was planning on buying something fairly soon and I want to get something that has impromptu card effects that would work well in public and would get good reactions too. Any recommendations?

I was also wondering if you guys could add on a few decent impromptu card tricks you may already know to this list:

Time machine-Steve Freeman
Biddle Trick-Elmer Biddle?
ACR
Search and Destroy-Aaron Fischer
This n' That-??

Search and Destroy is awesome. The teaching transcends the one effect and you will use it across your magic. It's also a lesson in humility. I use this to close my closeup performances as the effect itself makes you hand the magic over to a spectator. I developed a patter with this effect about the movie the Matrix and it really pulls the spectator in.

Also, I must say, I personally hate sandwich effects. I wrote a thread about this awhile back. But if you routined a few sandwich effects and ended it with S&D you will have a very strong routine.

I would reccomend something like the Dai Vernon Inner Secrets trilogy. though it's not all impromptu it's all USABLE, it's all audience tested, and it's all premium stuff.

How many impromptu card effects are really needed for one's arsenal? Seriously. You only need about 5 good ones and to be able to perform them flawlessly.

Why learn 10-20 and be mediocre at them? Also...I have performed a lot of impromptu card effects at parties and the following list has been plenty of ammo.

Biddle
This N That
ACR
Stigmata
Search and Destroy

These would be enough to fry an audience and could last you a good 10-15 minutes if done correctly. After that amount of time nobody wants to watch another card trick.

However...if you need more. Try Aldo Colombini's 6 Volume Disc set of Impromptu Card Effects or Ammar's Easy to Master Card Miracles.

Hope this helps some.

Its just when someone who has seen all these tricks asks you to show them a trick, you cant repeat. I feel that I know at least 7 that I feel fully comfortable performing anytime anywhere anyplace. But I feel its time to expand my arsenal maybe to nine or ten. You cant do the same three tricks for your whole life

Perform to different people? Put a presentational spin on your old tricks? Learn variations?

roadrunner cull i agree is great. I know Koysta he lives by me in Orlando and he has showed me it personally but still been working on it for about 4 months and still don't have it good enough to split the whole deck in half yet in front of people yet because i expect perfection, but yes i agree if your willing to put in the time and effort to do it flawlessly its great and also you should use it as a move and do your own tricks from it
