I can't believe the way they're hyping this thing... Did anyone see the MSNBC commercial "20 years from now people will ask you where you were when Barack Obama was sworn in." Haha.

I would say they are hyping it for good reasons. It is a new president who will obviously be making changes for 4 years (at least). The changes made will directly affect your life and it is a significant event for America considering the fact he is the first African-American president.

I as well don't want to turn this into a political debate so I will rest with my previous comment.

Isn't the inauguration of our first black President kind of a big deal?

The immaturity of some people is shocking. This thread is not about politics, please don't allow your strong opinions to translate into the arrogant need to tell everyone about it to prove you're right. You're not important enough for people to care what you think.

More people are talking about obama than what this thread is actually is about. Im not going to the actual thing.

So getting back on topic is any one coming

Why do people say something that makes people want to respond who don't agree with you and then say how this shouldn't be an argument (dejavu05)? Anyway you've got to give me a better reason than that to go to the inauguration let alone watch that inauguration...ugh.

No, but maybe I'm just over the whole race thing in general. I could care less if you're black, white, green or purple, just protect me and keep my taxes low

I agree that race shouldn't be a big deal, and I wouldn't vote for him simply because he's black, and would be our first black President, but I think it is a pretty big deal to have our first black president. I would really like a blue President, though.
