I hav been following your posts on here for awhile. I can see you are fairly new to all this so you do not need to fool magicians. The best investment is to buy born to perform from oz pearlman. Master that those 4 tricks were all huge parts of Blaines first special. Spend time mastering that.

3 months come back and buy some books but born to perform will give you a good grounding.

Man I agree with every comment on this thread. You're always asking which trick is great, and yada yada who cares at this point. Learning magic is great and fun, but you'll never truly be good at all of the things you buy. Spend time mastering a few effects and do them better than anybody else.

I'm going to throw my two cents in here. I probably own about 50-75 different props / effects, but do you think I know how to perform them all to the best of my ability? Nope. I don't have enough time in the day nor do I perform enough paid gigs to use them repeatedly to get them down.

Any time I'm asked to perform I continually go back to what I know works and that is Biddle, Sloppy Triumph, my ACR, Crazy Man's Hand Cuffs, and one or two money effects. I have performed them over a hundred times each for various live audiences.

You really do not need to own a zillion magic effects. It becomes a very expensive hobby quite rapidly.

Many of these guys are correct and know what they are talking about.

I don't buy much magic products because most of them doesn't fit my style. Ambitious Card, Here then There, Biddle, Sloppy Triumph, 2 Card Monte are great effects. I've been performing them for the past 2 years. But now I can't because they don't fit my style. I perform only 3 card magic now. Of course they are not original but 2 of those I've discovered a method to take it to another level. I'm just being curious about these magic effects and that's why I always ask questions even if I already know what some of you are going to answer. Your comments helps me a lot. If I've offended you then simply don't answer my posts and I'm sorry.

Just an observation: I kind of get where you're coming from. I hate the Biddle trick. It doesn't work for me. I can't make it work.

But you've named a lot of different tricks that have all sorts of presentations. It sounds like you're looking to copy a trick from whatever place you buy it from and hope it fits you. That's not how it works. Take a trick and make it fit you - especially those as malleable as the ones you've listed. It would be different if you had named, for example, a geek magic effect.

Thanks for your observation. I'll try your suggestion to make an effect fit yourself but I can't force it.
