LIVE MAGIC - French Kiss

Hey everyone! So here is this weeks new magic video!

The first video also talks about a contest I am having!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G0nmBO8HTk&hd=1

And this one is the actual magic lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeAYCD6dCk8&hd=1

Enjoy!

P.S. Don't Forget to Subscribe!

Quick little disclaimer! this was all footage that I filmed PRIOR to that advice being given lol. I have about 3-4 hours of magic that was filmed right before I had a gig in mid-October (where the majority of the clips are from) Since then I have slowed down a lot since then. I have been listening and taking into consideration what has been said lol. I'll just put a disclaimer out there that my next several videos (prob like the next 7-8) will all have been filmed PRIOR to getting any feedback from you guys so if it looks like I'm ignoring what is being said thats why. I really appreciate everyones input!

My advice would be more about your editing rather than the effect. Its pretty hard to give any feedback without being able to see the entire performance. If we can't see the entire performance, we can't say what you did good, or need improvement on. By selecting bits and pieces of several performances, its kind of like you are only selecting what you felt were the best parts and left out (maybe not intentionally) anything to really give feedback on. Based on the clips of the spectators reactions, it seems like you did good. I'm sure some people might disagree with my comments about your editing style but just thought i'd leave my 2 cents.

Thanks for your honesty! I am still trying to find an editing style that works. The thing is I have plenty of footage of me performing the effect that I want to include in the video. However if I left it as is, the video would be 15 min long and no one would want to watch that. I'm trying to find a way that I can include plenty of footage in a short period of time so that a viewer (whether magician or layman) will be able to follow along with the trick. Do you have any specific suggestions or examples that might help?

I Wish you the best with the youtube thing. Hope you get the sponsorship your after. You're a fun watch.

Thanks a bunch Draven! Yeah I've been in contact with a few bigger names on YouTube (in the magic community at least) and I am trying to get in contact with some of the bigger YouTube partners. I love doing what I do and it'll be nice to get some acknowledgment in the end.

Do you have any thoughts on the way I have edited the video?

If it's editing your trying to excel in, I would strongly recommend Lynda.com. I am currently learning photoshop, their tutorials are phenomenal. Great performances. Slick.

haha I've been looking into Sony Vegas Pro. I HAD the Pinnacle editing system...to say the least...I HATED it lol.

Yeah I've been teaching myself Sony Vegas and I really do like it a lot.

Honestly, no. Though I would recommend auditing a Video course at college for a semester. I'm willing to bet dollars to dimes that anything you pick up in there will be gold to you.

Thanks for that... my next semester is actually pretty full but I was planning on taking a few film classes next year (planning on minoring in it) so I deff agree that, that will help

Thanks Zach! I will deff check it out! And I'm glad you liked the performances =]

Maybe try going through all of your performances (the 15 min you are editing through) pick out the best performance, show it completly from begining to end, then once the performance is done(including the spec reaction) then you can go into your montage of different performances and in those maybe only show the last section of the performance starting with the moment the card enters your mouth and ending with a few seconds of the spec reation. Try and think of all the teasers and commercials for theory11 and E products, they all have one solid performance then pretty much what I described as far as a montage of the end of the effect. That way people can enjoy all the different performances/scenarios you are in and still fully understand and able to enjoy the full effect. Hope this helps.

That helps a lot! I'll try and do that next time... thanks!
