Hello! I hope to do more talent shows at school. Everyone is always wanting me to, so we have something other than just singers. I can't because of where we are suppose to perform. So, my normal close up tricks will not work. However, Bizzaro (my favorite magician of all time) has stated Mark Wilson's course is full of great stage Illusions. So while searching For Tarbell's Course on eBay, I came across a listing on eBay for Mark's course for ¢99! It mentioned it was an Autographed copy, but I didn't really pay much attention and I bid on it. I won with 99¢! It finally came in today and sure enough the front page has this written in sharpie.

So now I'm confused. Only 99¢! The book is in great condition has a very sight click, because the mail man put it in the box rather than the front door! But its perfectly fine! It looks like a great read! I feel like I did just get a good deal. But i'm also wondering is the autograph real? Is it like one of those cases where the autograph lowers the value? I doubt it. I really believe this is genuine! If anyone has any info I really want to hear them. Like, if anyone knows when/if he did any book signings, or anything.

I don't know anything about that book, but if close up magic is what you do best, just see if you can find a way for them to rig up a projector and camera to see you perform :) I've done that before and it went amazingly actually!

I'm no autograph expert (I'm probably not even an autograph amateur, but that's neither here nor there).

However, two minutes of Google research, and I would bet that your book was signed. Not only by the legendary Mark Wilson, but also by his lovely wife, Nani Darnell Wilson.

So, congrats! For 99 cents, you made an investment that will pay dividends back for the rest of your magic career. And you got it autographed to boot! :D

Pretty cool find and probably authentic. I'm sure you can sell the book for at least double what you paid for it. :)

I'm not a big fan of using a projector for stage magic. I think close-up magic loses something when projected on a screen. There are a lot of great stage illusions in Mark Wilson, but also a lot of other magic that can be performed on stage. In addition, a lot of card effects can play big - invisible deck, cards across, tossed out deck and more. A great book is Wayne Dobson's WD-40 - it has a bunch of card effects that play well on a stage.

I do agree with you, but if I'm being entirely honest, my skills, experience, and knowledge weren't enough to carry a full stage show - that's simply not my style haha! I did try my best to do "bigger" tricks though. That's just what I'd do if I wanted to do my normal close up illusions, but it does cause a small division to the audience. In my experience (as a high school student :p), it's worked for me, but that may not always be the case.
