So what kind of marketing tips do you all want to hear about?

Sure Benji. What types of thing would you put in a promotional packet? And if you do not have a ton of cash to spend on the packet...what are the 3 crucial items to include?

Follow up: How many packets do you have made and to whom do you send them out to? I don't want to just blindly send 100 packets out and get absolutely nothing in return and waste money. Do you make contact with the potential client / restaurant / corporation first before sending the packet or are they just going to say NO and pitch your packet?

Skip the flash, flare, and flavor text. No little investment, large return sales hype. What are the brutal facts about what you need to invest in yourself at the minimum before you should start expecting to see ROI.

Hello..

You mentioned in a previous post that one should go to perform to get more gigs...how can you qualify a people that has potential to hire you...also, if you go to perform with this mentality...how should one treat the tips?

Regarding Rick Everhart question...if you carry some promo packages to this gigs...how can you know if somebody qualifies to receive one?

anyway...thanks for all the advice given!!

How do you know a good contact that will book you from someone who is just really into what you do? and when it comes to corporate work, how do you know which companies to contact. Is it worth getting in with a hotel to try and get them to work with you when it comes to events they have booked in so they can recommend you?

Probably have a few more Q's but can't think right now!

I just posted the first essay on promo packets and will post other essays soon. Moore Majik...I don't do shows in theaters so I can't give advice on that. I only do corporate work so someone like Dan Sperry can answer that.

I will be doing a public show in a hotel suite coming up very soon and that will be my first public show. I'm use to being hired by a company who says they will have 500 people at their event. I've never had to get the 500 people to come to the event. Once I do this show, I'll post information about it ;)
