Hey guys!
I hadn't been on the forums for a few days because I went on a school trip. While I was there, all the grade tens from various schools were hanging out playing pool downstairs in the club area. I decided to whip out my cards and see what I could work. The second that somebody I knew spotted me they forced me to start showing some of the teachers tricks. I showed one teacher who told the other, who told the other, who told the etc.. Eventually, I ended up showing it to over 30 people! I had a pretty tough crowd staring at me, the last thing anyone wants to do is mess up a single trick for a group of over 30 people that I see 5/7 days a week. I managed to misdirect everyone and pull off a top change (is that exposure?) for Two Card Monte! For my closer, I got everyone to walk out of the club to outside. Since the group was so large, I had to use double the amount of flash paper, to get double the oooo and aaahhhssss for Jay Sankey's Phoenix Effect. In the end, I managed to wow one of the toughest crowds I've ever faced for a full 45 minutes!
Also!
30 minutes after I got home from the camp trip, a package came to the door, my book was finally here! I had bought Magic 1400's - 1950's from Amazon. It came in a few parts. First the outside cardboard box, then a briefcase-like box filled with cylindrical air cups, and then another plastic layer! After tearing through all of that and flipping through the first few pages I can easily say that it is a: be-a-u-ty. The photographs and copies of the posters in the book are so well printed (made in Italy) and the book is filled with tons of history! This book is NOT something that you can simply put on your lap and read. I had to put it on a table, in front of my couch, and then read it. It's about 22 in long, 16 in wide, 700 pages, 17lb. Even though it is translated into English, French, and German, it still uses different pictures for each translation, which I thought was a good touch for a translated book.
Sorry for the uber long post guys, I just wanted to... vent? Hope you guys also had a great time performing!!
