Hey guys,

As you may have seen, the new 1-on-1 this week is from Dangerous: Mystique, Breach.

I wanted to post one of these topics for once.

Thoughts? Disappointed it's from Dangerous?

Of all the amazing things from dangerous, it could've been something better than breach. It's a trick that's pretty much impossible to perform in person.

i like new 1on1s better.. uhmm.. with breach, for me.. it is a good effect but not really one of those reputation builder.. angle sensitive and you need to have big hangs to do this effect.(also a glass table) I'm hoping to see some 1on1s from wayne or danny..

or JB.. :)

you could actually do it signed if you want, but you would have to do it yourself (pm if you want my "idea"), its not a very easy trick, and it needs good misdirection, you could use KOAS on the "down" version (not actually pull the card down out of the table).

As far as a 1-on-1 goes, I don't think this is at all a bad offering. It's a good effect that will appeal to many (though I don't perform it). As far as the fact that it's from Dangerous, I don't think that's really an issue. Sure, it means that a lot of people here aren't going to be buying it, but so what? That doesn't mean it's not a good 1-on-1.

The cull is one of the most requested 1-on-1's by popular opinion, yet there are many DVDs which look at the cull. No-one would complain if a cull 1-on-1 was produced though. The Bluff Pass is published in MANY different places, and yet more W:H 1-on-1's are still at the top of the agenda. The Gravity Half-Pass is another of the most requested 1-on-1's, and it's well published, and no-one could argue that the description in The Paper Engine was not well taught. And now, we have Breach, which also has been published, and people complain?

I just want to clarify here. Most people have not complained directly, or in the manner I've implied above. Some posters above have hinted at it though, and I'm sure a few will have thought this, so I wanted to put this thought out there now.

I dunno, I mean, I totally understand if you say "this isn't useful to me at all". But to dismiss it as a bad 1-on-1, not as a bad move or a bad effect or a bad flourish but a bad 1-on-1, simply because it is published, in my opinion is questionable at best.

Haha Doug I think you misread. ^.^

No-one could argue that it wasn't well taught, i.e. it most definitively was well taught - I have no problems with it and have been happily working away at it for a few months now :)

aww
I was kind of hoping for the gravity half pass(is that the name?) from aaron fisher, or maybe volume 2 fo flourishing by andrei.

In my opinion it would be nice if they taught us sleights, not tricks, usually when I buy a dvd , I only use the sleights, not the tricks in there, for example, I love half vanish but I use it in a different way of presentation.

Anyway, breach looks good but is very difficult to do(surrounded).

Cheers!:D

Well if you havent tried to perform it in person yet you cant really say that.
It works great in person.I mostly get stunned silences first and then mini freakouts.(I learned it awhile back with the Dangerous dvd.)
You just really have to know how to build it up.And sway the audiences to the right angles.I usually say stuff like "come over this way so you can see better.."or anything like that.
I usually perform this in a cyril takayama sort of way.
That man makes a simple crazy mans handcuffs look like a f'ing miracle.
