Yeah but I prefer fast because it is an opener! I think it gets them more into it and excited.

And if it was your step dad that said this, then I wouldn't say the comment was "funny", I would say it is a cue to you to stop bringing magic to everything single place that you go. If you are going out to bowl, just bowl.

If it wasn't your step dad that said this, then that is even worse, and your audience management is pretty terrible as you just ignored his comment.

I liked the effect, But I do agree with tokyoUW. Stop shoving magic down people's throats. The more you perform, the less of a novelty it becomes. I find its always better to leave them wanting more. I think alot of magicians show new effects to their parents,siblings roommates etc.These people become "testers" for new effects. You really have to looking at it from their perspective, I mean trick after trick after trick... its bound to get annoying sometime, when you hear comments like "Hurry up we've got to bowl" you should understand that its time to draw the line.

Guys, I never show him magic and that is why. He always acts like that. I ignore him. Everyone else was having a great time and enjoying the magic!

He told me afterward that me doing magic was cool. He said it was awesome and I amazed him and everyone else and he could tell how happy I was performing!

He was just being a smart ass so I ignored him.

Nothing, not even a little bit of what we said could be even remotely accurate. Do magic in every situation! Let it define you to your bones. Force it on everyone! If your family goes bowling, do magic! If you go skiing, do magic! If you go out to a nice restaurant for dinner, do magic!

I used to perform EVERY single chance that I had until I noticed that the people around me were eventually getting annoyed by my magic and could care less. Never feel like you have to perform all of the time. Sometimes it is hard because we as humans, crave the attention and the adrenaline rush, but when it cuts into other people's activities or they try to rush you, it may not always be the best situation. Just food for thought.

As far as the performance, even as an opener I felt it was too rushed. Slow it down a tad. Thanks for sharing.

Pretty true. You have to remove yourself from magic ever once in awhile and make it so that people don't see you just as the "magic guy", and also so can learn to live a normal life. I highly doubt Wayne Houchin or Mike Ammar constantly perform 24/7 whenever they get the chance. I am sure they have learned to also remove themselves from their careers every so often so they can recharge their batteries.

This is something that most people need to realize. If you keep shoving it down people's throats and acting like "every event calls for." You WILL get burned out really fast and so will your friends and family.

Like I said, I don't perform for them all the time. I never show my stepdad tricks, I show my mom when she actually wants to pay attention, and the lady that points hasn't seen my magic in a LONG time, and that was the first time her husband had seen my magic, and there was another guy at the table that I had just met.

Like I said, my stepdad was being a smart ass.

Seriously though, have you ever just simply said, "I see what you guys are saying, I will give it some thought." ? What is with the need to be one up on everyone? Some people, a lot of people recently actually, have been trying to give you some advice, and you brush it off as if it does not apply to you. There was an attempt to explain to you the difference between being proud of what you do, and being prideful, and you just brushed it off with a "that isn't me."

You are in for a rude awakening later on when you realize that there are those that just don't put up with things so well. You say you are a very "friendly" guy and "likeable," but what you do not understand is that High School is not a good representation of how the world works. If anything, nowadays, high school is anything but what the world is like. Just because you are like-able now, does not mean you will be that way forever. We have been trying to give you advice on that fact, because there is really good potential in your magic and in your performance ability. Why throw all that away for your, "I am holier than thou" humble arrogance act?

Yes, I do understand what you guys are saying, and now that I think of it, I do magic for my best friend ALL the time. Probably every time we hang out. Now, I see that it is too much. I do magic for my grandma and grandpa ALL the time. It may seem like too much but they never get tired of it.

But the people in this video hardly ever see my magic. Period. It's the truth whether you believe it or not.

No, you are being bashed because you don't register what anyone thinks unless it's positive. In relation to this effect, you are being criticised because you didn't listen to your spectators. When was the last time you conceded a point? Why do you think you have gotten so many overwhelmingly negative replies that you yourself have gotten angry? Not just from TokyoUW, either. From Jenai. From reverhart. From Randy. From sabor. And from me, in another topic. Why do you think all these members agree on their criticism of you? Could it possibly be that we see something that you don't? My stepdad is an alcoholic, and he was drunk. I can't believe that he says one thing and because of that it starts an argument and I get bashed.

I was on your side mate, I thought everyone was being overly harsh. Then you said the above and proved them all completely right. So, sorry, but I have to agree with everyone else now.

And yes, it is great to not be a magician all the time. I don't even perform when people ask me most of the time. I save it for every now and again, makes it more special and makes people, in my opinion, more willing to engage with it and not just try and ruin what you are doing. This is also why I don't ambush people in the street just to show them a card trick and also why I never want to turn professional.

Guys, I think he has heard and thought about your comments. I think he gets that magic shouldn't be ''shoved down people's throats.'' He said that he barely shows magic to those people, his stepdad's a drunk, and he only shows tricks to his grandparents all the time. My parents and grandparents ALWAYS want to see something. After a magic lesson, they'll always ask me to show them something!
