Performing is...

Hey guys!

Earlier today I posted a thread on what I should perform. I ended up basically performing an ACR, Color changes, Phoenix Effect, Two Card Monte, Here Then There, and a few other tricks.

Unlike what I thought, it was a really different setting than I thought it would be. I ended up staying a half hour longer than I was told (because of other performers), and I ended up getting called from other tables while performing because someone else had told them how good I was! It was a really awesome time and I really loved the people's reactions. A few girls just sat there and didn't move after I did an ACR routine. I got $70 of tips in an hour of magic.

One 10 year old girl came up to me and started asking how to learn, and when I started, she seemed genuinely interested!

Anyways, I just wanted to tell you guys how awesome of a time it was (no real purpose to this thread).

I hope tomorrow will be as awesome as todays show!

Congratulations on a job well done! The thrill of performance is a natural high that will keep you motivated and ready to keep learning, improving, advancing. Keep up the great work and things will only get better.

Nicely done. The natural high JB speaks of is what keeps your inner desire to grow. You will continually want to expand your knowledge, experience, technique, etc. so that you can place yourself in more situations to experience that high. It is seriously like an addiction. I jump at every chance I get to perform for people because not only does it make their day but it reaffirms that all the time and effort I am putting into this art is worth it. I go home feeling super pumped on my adrenaline rush and know that they too will go home a happier person.

Congrats on your success! I agreed with the other forum members say. As you grow up as a performer, you will have a lot of experiences and the motivation to keep going.

thanks you guys! I had another gig today at someone's BBQ and it went fantastic! It was REALLY hard to do a Braue Reversal when the guy had sunglasses on, couldn't tell if I had misdirected him to look at my face. He seemed surprised when the trick was over, so I guess I did alright!
