Hi- I had this change for a while, and thought I post my take on it in this
review.
Trick: Polaroid Change
Created By: b. smith
Story: We first saw B. Smith perform this in Dan White’s Confessions of an Artist video posted in the Media Section.
Effect: Fresh from the underground New York magic scene comes the Polaroid Change by B. Smith. A method never before tipped until now. A card is shaken like a Polaroid and it instantly, visually changes into another card.
Every detail is covered, including angles and practice tips on how to perfect the change. Learn two versions of the change in complete detail, shot on the streets of NYC.
Cost: $5.95
Genre: Card Magic
Demo: http://www.theory11.com/1on1/?CategoryID=16&ProductID=60&RecordsPerPage=5#ThumbVideos
Format: 16.5 Minutes | Download
Video and Quality:
Video- The video is well edited and put together.
Quality- The quality of this video was absolutely perfect, like all of Theory11’s videos.
Performances: There’s only one (1) performance “for you” (on the streets of NYC) and that’s the Demo, but that’s not a problem.
Teaching: The teaching is phenomenal and shows you from a few different angles. B. Smith teaches everything you need to know to be able to make this change look good. He does not leave any details out at all.
Method: The method is really well thought out and devious. It’s a little knacky, and there are a few steps to getting the change in position.
Angles: The change is quite angled sensitive. He does go over the angles with you so you know where not to flash and gives you a few practice tips to perfect the change.
Difficulty: This change is noted as INTERMEDIATE. It will take a lot of practice.
Overall: I like how visual the change is, and with practice you will have a cool change on your hands. It is a very cool change for a very reasonable price. Also, it is very Bertram like. I recommend you pick this up.
Bonus: B. Smith teaches a second version that is less visual, but very more angle-friendly using the same technique for the Polaroid Change.
Score: 8/10
