Not trying to steer the topic away from XCM and cardistry, but does this apply to magic as well?
After learning the Revolver, my fingers itch to practice it wherever I am, but I get the feeling that if people see me doing it, and I happen to flash, they would forevermore know the method...or at least part of the method.

With magic, there is a secret to hide. Which is why I don't practice anything 'secret' in public unless I'm sure I can block the view of the people around me. Flourishes are not secret, they are, essentially, juggling. There's nothing to hide there, no secret to accidentally expose.

If you flub a magic move, though, then you're letting a secret out. That's where I would draw the line. I don't think anyone should practice magic in public.

Thanks for clearing that up.
