No offence dude but this is basically a simplified hot shot cut, except you just catch the card back on top of the deck...

Non taken ;) yea in some ways it is easier but i still like it besides if its easier it will help beginners with the real hot shot ;)

I don't know if Brian Tudor invented it. Though I haven't read the book, I have it on good authority that there's a very similar move in By Forces Unseen by Stephen Minch. In practice I have accidentally done this 'recon shot' while trying to learn a different move.
