I agree. $25 + tips for a new performer at a first gig is a great starting point. No question about it.
Sure I know magicians that charge 70, shoot some knock out 250 an hour, lol, but it really does depend on the event, the type of restaurant and the level of experience. You'll do great out of this, and you never know, I saw a guy tip a magician a 50 for performing a routine that entertained his table. (They were businessmen and the clients loved the choice of restaurant as a result.)
