I had some issues with it. First it doesn't come with a battery. Second they said it is made in the USA but it is made in China. Nothing wrong with it being made there but don't tell us it is US made and charge made in the USA prices. Can't reallly respool it yourself and have to buy his refills even if you split your own. Also on his DVD he kinda trashes other IT that are not his and exposes the working of them. I sold mine in the end.

It is definitely an improvement over the original Spider Pen, but it still has its issues. I don't like that something labeled "Pro" requires an "adjustment" to keep the battery connected. Also, the "silver" finish easily scratches off. I do like that you don't have to touch the pen at all during your routine. The IT also seems pretty strong and it is a lot easier to fix a break than with traditional reels. Over all I would say the pros outweigh the cons, but it is pricey for what you get.

What experience do you have with IT?
Although the Spider Pen is a pretty good tool, it is definitely not a beginner's ITR - and if you do not have the necessary experience, you're going to have huge difficulties with this pen!

I bought Spider Pen Pro on release and it's worked perfectly so far. It's probably not something you will use all the time so if you don't have the cash I'd probably give it a miss. I always keep mine in my jacket when I'm working because in the right moment it absolutely kills people.
It is a pain that you have to buy refills but I've not had to change mine yet and I've snapped it a bunch of times. In my opinion, if you can afford to buy it you can afford refills.
