I have decided definietly to do cardistry on stage in front of my school. What flourishes should I perform? There will be a camcorder plugged in the projector to monitor what I am doing. Thanks
you need to ask yourself what style, character, what do you want to achieve?
Also, I've heard that dan and dave's card magic isn't so well for live performances, what card magic is? Would you suggest Totally out of Control?
Did you read this bit?
Can you give me some stage magic websites? I'm curious what they use to perform magic? I've thought of backpalming before but the problem is that a whole stage crew is going to be behind me and we wouldn't want them to see that.![]()
well, if there is a monitor as you say, cards could be viable. Also, Penn and Teller perform their cups and balls on a large stage with no problems at all. It is, in my opinion, all relative to what you really want to accomplish. You could put some flourishes in there, but I would recommend it to be more of a "wow, what was that just then?" moment, on an off-beat. You can adapt many things the you do close up for stage magic. You could turn a simple card force into a large crowd pleaser. You could have them write it out large on a note pad, and then divine it in some way (prediction, mind read... whatevah).
But then, don't take any advice I give on this subject too trustingly. I don't perform stage; although I hope to give it an attempt in the near future.
