effective aces was terrible...just terrible
The list of improvements would take way too long to type
Luckily I have 15 minutes free!
For one, I now know how to do that trick thanks to your video. You really,
really have to stop performing tricks with so little practice. I know you're eager, and it's fun to perform, but practice, practice, practice!
The video itself: Was the editing an attempt to hide what you thought were fishy moves? If so, you failed. And if it was for aesthetic reasons, you still failed. The video was ugly and hurt my eyes to watch.
Also, it was bad enough that we only get to see your hands (why are Youtube magicians unknown clones of each other? That's right - we only see their hands!) We didn't see your face, so we can't really identify you as a magician rather than some mysterious fingers doing something with cards. But what's worse, is we can't hear you say anything! There is absolutely zero presentation. It's boring - very, very boring. The music is stupid (though it did make me wonder if you were some sort of action hero or super spy) and detracts from the overall thing.
In order:
- Actually learn the trick flawlessly.
- Put your entire self in the video, please, if you can. We respect you enough to watch your video, at least respect us enough to show up. I get so tired of seeing someone's hands fiddle with cards, like that in itself is enough to wow me. Sell yourself along with the magic.
- Nix the music and get a presentation. Say something (and not just, "Now you pick four cards. Okay we will put them in the deck. Look they are aces. Applause, please.")
- Bonus points if you perform this for a living, breathing audience, even if it's just one person.
Instant improvement! Each one of those four things you do makes your video 10 times better.
