Those of you who know me, know that I am 31 years old and am a 4th grade elementary teacher. I am a semi-pro magician and love everything to do with magic. My wife, Susan and I have two young children and just this past November, my wife was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. It felt like we had just been hit by a mack truck. I had only shared this with a few of you on here.

In December she had her entire large intestine removed, temporary colostomy bag, and a port put in for chemo treatments. I had planned to go to my first Magifest in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend, but knew that I needed to cancel and stay at home with my family.

I had really wanted to meet Danny Garcia, Shane Black, Eric Jones, and many other guys down there and had talked to Shane numerous times on the boards here. I let him know that I wouldn't be able to come to Magifest based on what my wife and I are going through. It has been the toughest challenge of our lives.

Shane Black and Papercrane Productions went completely out of there way and sent me a package which I should get tomorrow containing magic products on their behalf and generosity. I just wanted to let everyone know that sometimes you can create magic for others just be doing something incredible or going out of your way. I felt so blessed to have someone who I have never met except through these boards, do something like this.

Thank you Shane Black and Papercrane productions. If anyone else contributed to this package and I didn't know it, I would like to say thank you as well.

Thank you Jv. I just wanted to share this story even if it isn't about the next greatest sleight or move because it is very inspirational.

That was very kind of them; I like to hear that sort of thing, magicians (and magic companies, in this case) helping magicians.

Also, of course, I wish you and your family the best.

I am very sorry to hear about your family and I really hope that they feel better. Props to the magicians who show their kindness. That's quite rare on the qualities. I'll be praying for you and your family as well.

I wish you the very best mate!
It hurts to see this happen to the people you love, i had a dear friend and teacher die of cancer last summer.
Everything i can say is that don't give up hope and always drive her, when i heard that only a miracle could save her i lost a bit of hope and i regret that.

I wish you the best of luck!

Wow what a shock to your family

Very sorry to hear about this. Sometimes we can never prepare for the curve balls that come our way. Papercrane have some good magicians on board all of them so nice, and generous. Every once in awhile when someone in the community of magic needs something; it's met or exceeded. That's true brotherhood! I would like to think anyone of us if in our means would do the same. That is a very thoughtful gesture.

We at NexusMagicStore.com wish you, and your family the best through this difficult time. Your also all in our thoughts and prayers too. Please, keep us updated on her road to recovery. Were pulling for her!

Sincerely,
Jason Ring - Owner
