If someone bought both the DVD and Download couldn't that person sell the DVD and still legally have rights to perform the trick, because that person bought the download?

Thats not morals, YES it would be legal but the purpose of the download+DVD is to get instant access to the DVD but in the end have a hard copy of the video.

I've addressed this point before.

The fact of the matter is that there is a lot of trading that goes on in the community. Most of us just prefer to sweep it under the rug and play dumb. The whole issue strikes me as... kind of stupid actually.

I can't say as I'd totally approve of the idea of buying the DVD/download combo just to sell the DVD (and also can't see how it would actually generate any real profit), but it's not something I'm going to lose sleep over.

You already paid the creator for knowledge of how the effect is done and performance ability. The DVD is just the means through which that knowledge if transferred. It's that the creator was given what they deserved, and that you put the knowledge to good use.

So no, reselling the DVD really shouldn't be a moral issue. Unless you take into account that someone is benefiting from knowledge that they didn't purchase from the creator. But that gets in to a whole different issue.

It won't generate profit, but you'd have an almost free trick. Which is legal, but unethical imo.

Well yeah, but why are you even thinking about it? Maybe it's not that much of a moral issue, but it is certainly not ethical to profit from somebody else's creation unless they've given you the permission to do it.
In other words, you can do it, I think, but it's not very nice. And as mentioned, this "scheme" wouldn't generate real profit. I think being nice and buying the DVD is better all around :-P.
