I always try to look at every magic trick from a spectator-point-of-view. I try to be open-minded and forget everything I know each time I see a new effect.

Kind of like the saying, "no way to fill a cup that is already full," each time I see an effect I try to empty my cup.

Ok I see. Like completley revamping it each time. But what if you find a method that works really well, do you still empty the cup?
