I'm not sure if you can get just that one trick, but you can get the single DVD. The single DVDs will be available for about 35 or 40 dollars, but you'll be unable to buy disc 9. Hope this helps.

But, the single DVDs will not be out for a few months, so I would suggest also loooking into other rising ambitous card effects that are on the market.

There are

Riot By Dan Hauss and Shifty by Chris Kenner available in the 1on1 section

Fallen by Danny Garcia is available on www.ellusionist.com

Also Raise(Ray's) Rise by Ray Kosby is available on his DVD Impossible Card magic, This is available to be purchased in many places in cluding dananddave.com

This set looks to be the biggest contribution to close up magic in the past decade or so and I say that if you can get your hands on enough money to order this DO NOT hesitate. Paul Harris is a genious and he says this is his greatest work. It's amazing that on a magic forum a 1 trick download gets more publicity than this!

300 bucks is worth it tho. This isn't just some small DVD set with a few card tricks here and there. The box is a custom made puzzle box. Then you also get a ton of special props that go a long with some of the effects on the DVD's. Not to mention the 40 hidden tricks and interviews. It's pretty much going be something that will keep anybody busy for at least a year or two (depending on how long you spend on each DVD.)

If you're curious about this individual effect, I recommend looking into the Inflated Deck concept.

It was actually discussed a few times here on the forums, so I'm sure you can find a lot of information about it by doing a search. It was first published by Lin Searles in the 30s or 40s. I know David Harkey popularized the concept in his book, Simply Harkey. And if DVDs are your thing, you can find a pretty decent explanation of it in Gregory Wilson's Pyrotechnic Pasteboards. From what I can tell, Cheng's Riser uses the Inflated Deck concept followed by a simple color change of some sort. Not really groundbreaking, but it's good to see the move explored again.

People have used the Inflated Deck concept with Ambitious Card in the past. I remember it being a major trend in the late 90s. I used it as the middle phase of my routine for a very long time-- I think I learned it from an old Ben Harris manuscript. Hopefully, this gives you enough leads to do some benficial research.

...Oh, and you'd be foolish not to save up 300 beans to get the TA set. Just letting you know. Ha.
