Yeah yeah, I know that there have been countless threads about "upcoming gig!!! tips?" But im just posting this to brag about. Because I'm going to perform at WAL-MART

Beat that!

Im performing next to the shoes and lencery section. And Im taking my camera with me ;). How cool is that?

P.S Joking aside, I have my material ready and I know wich routines to perform, any tips on how to handle audiences and how should I approach them? thanks.

Congrats Buddy!!! I hope you have a great time and your spectators too!! I´ll be glad to watch the video

as a tip, I could just let people approach me and ask by doing some flourishes or something flashy like a humming bird card, because some people just go to wal-mart to buy what they´re looking for, usually they are in a rush, or don´t want to spend more time that they should.

if you see someone just wandering around then you should approach and ask them if they wanna see some magic.

Do the famous trick: Card to Bra!!! since you are near the lencery.

Note:
but I think I can beat that

Oh, I forgot to mention, Im getting paid to perform there,a manager from Walmart saw some of my videos (his daughter is friend of mine ) and they contacted me to see if I could perform there at least 1 hour :). They were going to hire a mime, but they thought that a magician would be a better idea ;)

P.S I dare you Vega...

then Is great!!! getting paid for doing magic in mexico is a little more difficult, because people tend to think of magic more in a "Rabbit from the Hat" way

how much are they paying you?

P.S.
Oh It´s On!! expect news next friday

Actually, is not a lot of money.... 20$ for an hour, yesI know that the standard over the states it's a lot more, but hey, as vega says magic is pretty overrated over here...

p.s.
Oh!!It´s on!!!, expect something next friday

Bring it on!

and?

(we all get gigs count)

Doesnt mean everyone should.
Its easy to gigs if you do a few magic tricks. Everyone(laymen) assumes you know alot and see the kid as a cheaper version of the magician for hire in the papers.

Hey RD, I would ask Dee Christopher and will draven straight up PM for advice.
Itd be the best thing to do.
They have proven to be full fledged professionals and evidently are workers.

Yep :)

I have been performing casually and practicing for almost 3 years now, I think it's time to try to get a work out of it, I definetly see this as a chanse to grow.

I actually posted this when William Draven was online hoping that he would reply here, I'll wait a little longer :)

sherlock is right. don't crowd an aisle. do some flourishing and let those who are interested come to you. make sure you perform with a smile and grace.

start the flourishing when you see people and then do the tricks when you have their attention....

It depends on how I am aiming to make them perceive magic.

I use a lot of things like "suggestion or "hypnosis" as patter for like 80% of my tricks, I think that if they see any skill whatsoever with cards( flourishes and the like), that impression would not be as good as I aim it to be.

But then again. Why not?
