This is the act I performed for the crowd at my school talent show... beginning with my rendition of The Vanishing Bandana, then closing with a D'lite routine. I apologize for the video quality, and some of the Vanishing Bandana routine can't really be well appreciated because my facial expressions are not visible. Regardless, enjoy!

I did make it to the finals, and the act I performed for the finals will be up very shortly! (in much better quality).

That was so awesome! A solid performance my friend. Reminded me of Tommy Cooper, and the sort of performance style he had. 6/5 from me.

Hmm...

It was okay. Nothing I would say really stands out though. The Vanishing Bandanna seemed awkward for me...maybe even rushed. I think you tried to speed it up a bit, when that is the sort of thing that needs to be slowed down and everything needs to be exaggerated ten fold.

The D' Lites routine was just off though. Your speed was entirely too fast for the music you selected...it had zero flow to it and there was too much repetition. I realize with the D' Lites you're somewhat limited to what you can do, but I just don't think it was the right choice. Maybe it would have been better to switch the 2 tricks, and open with the lights dimmed and go into the D' Lites. I think that the applause cue for the Vanishing Bandanna is 20x better than the D' Lites, and that would have helped you end on a higher note.

Again, it was terrible, just wasn't that great. I commend you for putting yourself out there, as that in itself is worth noting. :)

Best.
Steve

It's the CD that rushes, not me. If I had more time between instructions, I'd play it up more, but it doesn't work that way. Besides, my character COMMANDS speed, craves it... the way I play the routine is in a bit of a "frazzled" manner (which would admittedly be more clear if my facial expressions were visible on the video).

I do agree on the D'lites, with the music it does not seem to fit well. A different music choice I suppose would have worked much better. Thank you for your feedback.

I just watched it and I have to say that I was very entertained. I was really hoping to see those D'lights do the appear-out-of-your-"chest" (I'm not sure about this forum's language policy) idea that Brad Christian uses (sorry for mentioned that name and magic within the same sentence for all of you Brad-haters, lol), as your act started out comedic and grasping for laughter and peer approval. It's a video like this that makes me wish I would've gotten into magic more back when I was in high school several years ago.

...Now off to watch part two.
