What if...

Beginning of February, I had an idea: I make myself out to be a furry (in the anthro way, not the sexually-perverted fashion the Internet gives), and I also am conceptualizing a work known as Nexus Point. It's a story that takes place on a technologically advanced planet in the Andromeda Galaxy that is filled with these anthropomorphic animals. Penguins, wolves, dragons, gryphons, you name it.

So I thought what would the analogs of the theory11 artists look like? And I got some ideas up in mind:

Daniel Madison: Silver-fox with a hat, Name is Jakob Monroe, the only one who has a zanpakuto

Buck Twins: Twin wolves with opposite colorations like yin and yang. Aliz Dareck (the black one) has completely white eyes, while Arin (the white one) has completely dark eyes. Both have matching tattoos that resemble some of Si Scott's artwork

Dan White: Brown bear. Haven't really decided anything else yet.
Aaron Fisher: ???? I think he's a husky on Lemuria (the planet's name in Nexus Point)

Daniel Garcia: A dragon, slightly overweight

and finally:

Wayne Houchin: Name: Wagner Hutchins. Basically a cat version of the guy we all see and love.

I've already put out concept art for the last, here it is

Well? What do you think?

I'm not quite sure how to feel about this. On the one hand, it seems fanboyish, but then again lots of people base literary characters on people they know or historical figures.

Anthro art has a bad reputation and is often done badly, but I'd be lying through my ****ing teeth if I said I wasn't a fan of Lackadaisy, which reads a bit like Cats Don't Dance as written by Martin Scorsese and directed by Brian De Palma.

My advice? Get some resources on writing to make sure you're up to scratch. Speaking as a writer, it's not one of those things you can just do. Most people think they can write and they're awful at it. Also, take a stroll down to Concept Art as they have a ton of resources and tutorials for improving one's art. Their forums also have a sketchbook section in which to get constructive critiques on your work so you can figure out what areas need more work or what parts of the picture can be touched up.

Keep in mind that a lot of people at Concept Art aren't overly fond of anthro or anime/manga art because of how many amateurs latch onto it and do it badly, but the majority will still give you good feedback. In fact, there are a couple of professional manga artists at that site who would probably be willing to give you advice if you asked.

Hmm, I've never heard of this before, but it reminds me of something my english teacher did in my senior year of high school on the very first day.

In order to remember our names, we had to stand against the back wall of the room and call out our name as he ran up, opened his eyes, and was face to face, as he thought of an animal.

I found out at the end of the year that I was a fox.
Very strange guy teacher, but believe me when I say that weirder stuff happened during the year.
Does that have anything to do with this?

Are you high?

If he is then it would be very rude not to share.

Honestly, I'm trying to refrain from being particularly judgmental, which if you know me is very uncharacteristic. The reason being that my own scribbles and self-indulgent writing projects are numerous and not the sort of thing I want the world to see. But they were all learning experiences.

My abortion of an attempt at a pulp adventure screenplay for example taught me that I am in fact not Quentin Tarantino and should stop trying to write dialog like him. The first songs I ever wrote proved to me that less really is more and that I should not attempt to write an entire EP in the same key with the same rhyme schemes. And my earlier performances showed me that my biggest problem was killing all the drama and anticipation with words, words, too many mother****ing words!

So is this an idea I can get behind? Not particularly. But can he learn something from indulging himself in it a little? Absolutely.

SWEET, another person who shares similar interests, I think these fit perfectly so far. I loled at the slightly overweight dragon for Mr. Garcia.

Lets go to the artists section.

Arron Fisher: Cheetah Cool nerd attire, buttoned up shirt, slacks or jeans.

Chris Kenner: Definitely a Tiger, just a cool guy wearing an Aloha shirt, khaki shorts

Hmmm... I dunno about Fisher, I saw him myself and he doesn't seem like that kind of person. Cheetos don't have that p@do grin.

But Kenner I agree with; definitely an overweight tiger indeed XD

Notice the reference to speedo dolphins? This is a reference to a vlog he once did while down in Florida and he was on the beach. Said that speedos on men were the one thing he hated seeing there.
