"A pipe dream is a fantastic hope or plan that is generally regarded as being nearly impossible to achieve." - wikipedia

As tally-ho said, in a magical context, a trick that is considered a "pipe dream" is on that is impractical for day to day use. A trick with a good idea, but with either a poor method or one that it too obvious to be impressive in any way.

Which TNR? There are plenty of methods to achieve the amazing effect of a torn and restored card... I myself have created a rather visual, interactive, and very practical TNR method.

It depends (I know we're kinda jacking the thread but oh well). TNR can work quite well if you are only performing for a few people.

Ah. Yes, I agree with you - I would never perform Matthew Bich's TNR during a close-up performance.

But wasn't TNR created so you could perform it for people? I doubt He created it so you could sit there and do it just for yourself. Where's the fun in that? You could perform it for maybe 3-8 people as long as your angles are covered.
