For a long time I've really been trying to find a good video instructional on a pass like a riffle pass because the only thing I have on it is RRTCM which is a book and is hard to learn sleight of hand from. Any suggestions??????????

I too recently took interest in learning some passes. The Outjogged Hermann Shift from Arron Fisher's The Paper Engine and the S.W.E. Shift from The Expert at the Card Table are both available in the 1 on 1 section of this site. I don't own the S.W.E. Shift, but the Outjogged Hermann Shift is great. Its not too hard either. The only real problems I'm having with it is making it truly look invisible.

The Spread Pass is also on sale over at the On Demand section of D&D's site. I LOVE THIS MOVE! Its both a pass and a color change. You cannot go wrong with this pass. I LOVE IT! Its all very natural and its not even that hard to do either. ;)

Well, that should keep you busy for a while. :)

Herman Shift and the S.W.E Shift are shifts though, aren't they (from the name as I don't actually own either)? 'Cause shifts and passes accomplish different things, depending on what you're trying to do. Correct me if I'm wrong but...

I can say for a fact the Hermann Shift acomplishes the same thing a pass does, Except it brings the selcted card to the bottom. But im sure you can modify it easily and make the cardshif tto the top.

There are a few slightly different viewpoints on what the words "shift" and "pass" mean. Some people would say the two words are interchangable, with "shift" being more of a gamblers' term, and "pass" being the magicians' word. Some would define a pass as strictly being a move in which the upper and lower sections of the deck are transposed. However, there are moves described as passes, such as various straddle pass techniques, which only move a few cards. There are also moves, described as passes, which are more like side-steals. In addition, there are techniques like the diagonal palm-shift, or Vernon's multiple shift, which are clearly shifts, but aren't ever called a pass.

I think the most commonly accepted way of looking at it is a shift is any move which moves (or "shifts") a number of cards from one part of the deck to another. A pass is one that achieves this through roughly transposing the two halves of the deck. Therefore a pass is a type of shift. So, the clip shift and the 26 shift are both shifts, but only the 26 shift would be seen as a pass...

And yes, Outjogged Hermann can easily bring a card to the top. Aaron Fisher teachers a way in the 1-on-1 and the book, though you can come up with other ways to do it (convincing control-esque get ready comes to mind).

Ah ok, that makes sense.
