Why Magic Shops Dont Have Demonstrators Working

Ashley...which shop are you talking about? Mark Miller's shop here in Ohio? His is the only costume shop that I know of that also sells magic.

Jeff Pinsky at Browser's Den of Magic in Toronto kills as a demonstrator! Seriously, he's one of my favourites to watch perform.

Every magic shop I've been to has a demonstrator. Some better than others and some amazing (e.g. Magik at Fantasma).

Shops have to have demonstrators if they're to make money off their investment. Good demonstrators made extra cash buy offering lessons either independently (paying the store a commission) or through the store (in which they were paid a pittance)

I so wish you younger guys could have experienced what a real magic shop was like, but even my generation barely got a glimpse of that "golden age" of the trick & novelty shop.
