Hey, I am new to the whole forums and everything on theory 11..anyways ive been playing around with final cut..and i was wondering if you guys felt the cuts enhanced the effect or made it look like it was all fake...(which none of it is) .. it was more of an experiment based on editing technique then magic. anywayse here

thats the one on editing.

Towards the end the cards starting getting cut out of the frame. Other than that it was actually really good, the music wasn't too much, and the editing looked nice, aside from me not personally liking the beginning title. Just make sure it doesn't get choppy and keep the cards in frame.

thanks, and yea the cards out of frame were more of just the look i wanted...it was just a sick angle in my opinion...where did you think it got choppy?
thanks,
Nadea

I thought it looked kinda choppy as you reveal the card. But after re-watching it I realized that choppy is not the right word. I just think that you should have kept the card completely visible and not have edited the scene right as you turn that card over.

It seemed like you were cutting just for the sake of cutting. There was no rhythm to it! You need to have some rhythm, and I don't mean a rhythm that follows the beats of the music, but a general rhythm that will not jarr the audience. Cutting on a desired number of seconds will be able to get the audience used to the cuts and they will be less likely to notice them.
