Man they're just ragging on you. Whenever someone produces or attempts to produce something that didn't come from an established artist it's always 'crap' according to this forum.
Personally I thought it was alright, and with some polishing and some stuff added it'll be a nice routine. Sure may not be that original, I mean it's a deck color change routine, but it's not the point. You put together a collection of slights and produced a routine. I say, well done, it's more than most nay sayers will do.
The bottom line is, you don't have to convince the forum here, you have to convince live audiences with it. Polish it, practice it, and then spank it in front of a live audience. I think you'll get great reactions to it. I honestly couldn't tell if your clip shift was good or not, lol, because there was so much shenanigans. I couldn't see the shift, but then I couldn't see your hand either because your whole arm became a blur because you shaked it so much, so I wouldn't take it too seriously if people say its bad, lol.
The pass was very obvious, but not because I could see you transposing both the packets, but because I could see the card coming in. Your right though, no lay person is going to think, "That's a PASS!" They're going to be like, "Where the heck did that card come from."
Handling isn't important, to a lay person. A bit of misdirection, like doing that mid sentence, they'll catch some movement in the corner of their eye and see the deck changed. A good magician can flash every trick they perform, but people don't notice....or catch them. Why? Misdirection, lol.
