I'm sorry, I still don't quite follow. Do you mean, how to use other techniques with the gaffed deck? Or do you mean how to achieve specific effects - which you can achieve with the Sub Rosa deck - with a different method?
PS: Do you own Sub Rosa? I'm asking because otherwise I'm afraid our...
Hi! I'm confused by what exactly you mean with the "effect" of sub rosa -- if I'm correct, the tutorial teaches you the techniques to use in combination with a certain kind of gaffed deck. With these techniques and the deck, you can do any number of effects; which one in particular do you mean?
Rev, good to see you again!
Gotta say, I loved every one of those tricks, especially KBA (which I'd love to see done with a spectator), Frank and "Coin Thing". Handling seemed very smooth, as well.
@Dustrod said they have a YouTube video saying something is happening tomorrow. While I can't find that particular video (I didn't look too hard, granted), two days from now they will be hosting a livestream titled "an important announcement". Seems like all we can do is wait ...
I'm with David on this: Does your colleague know that alternatives exist to one-on-one lessons, and that these options are both cheaper (in many cases) and probably of more long-term value to him?* In-person lessons can complement the learning progress wonderfully, but make sure he understands...
Hi, good to have you here!
To add to the books above, I'd highly recommend you get some books on magic theory. As you stressed your interest in understanding magic, this will provide some fascinating insights for you and help your magic overall. A good way to start would be Vanishing Inc.'s...
Well ... mostly. I enjoy most of what comes across on that stage, but it's a pity that some performers - without naming names - only focus on creating something fooling, instead of something entertaining and magical.
I agree. Most of my friends who watch FU don't really care about "fooled" or...
I love watching Paul Daniels' routine (it was the first one I saw), but I don't think many people could pull it off the way he did.
Michael's is great because it creates magic for the touch, as well as the eyes (something not many magic routines manage, and I think it's great). Scott Alexander...
Hi Adam, as far as I know, they're simply called "seals". They might have a more professional name, but that's what most magicians call them.
Hope this helps :)
What I was referring to was not his books, but videos he did in the 1980s on game protection. If you can, I'd advise you to buy the complete download here, because you get a bonus section with it (the bonus section alone is worth half the price). If that's too expensive, you can get only the...
Please expand on that. Do you suggest doing routines that are reminiscent of what these persons are said to have done, or blatantly saying up-front, "This has been done since [archetypal figure xy]", or am I missing the meaning in your statement completely?
The video shows the elevator hop. I didn't see the move in the trailer of Troy Hooser's download, but I don't own the video, so I can't check. If you want to learn it, check out Volume 1 of Steve Forte's Gambling Protection Series (it can be purchased seperately at Vanishing Inc.); though the...
Thanks for sharing this. Examples like this are a good reminder to people fascinated by scams (which magicians are prone to) that real people are hurt in very real ways by these criminals. Kudos to the man for going public with his story, it takes guts to do that!
